Technically, it’s a trilogy. It’s about a trio of lovely younger adults who find themselves placed in a world of magic, strange people and stranger creatures. The world has changed after the Storm, but they remain untouched, locked away in – well, I won’t spoil it. But there’s definitely a bunker involved.
And handsome men in suits, because who doesn’t love that? If you’re here for Dirk, he’s in these books too. If you’re here for some sexy fun, it’s all over the place. Sexy means, at least for me, “Not knowing what’s going to happen next” and there’s quite a bit of that in SBA. If you like action and adventure, SBA’s got plenty of that. Strange locales? Check. Unwieldy magic? Check. Anti-capitalist bias? A touch, sure.
Most of all, though, people (at least, the people we, as readers, generally want to root for) tend to treat each other well. They’re kind. There’s not stupid stuff thrown in for the sake of page count (these books really wrote themselves – no need to get everyone all upset over something two minutes’ conversation would solve!) and nobody’s cruel for cruelty’s sake – or at least, our heroes aren’t. I can’t speak for the malignant evil in the world after the Storm, or in its minions, many of which used to be human.
I’m hopeful that the next round of editing will begin in August, with a hard launch of the book on Amazon (e-books and a small round of actual paperbacks) in January. A super cool artist is working on the covers – she should be finished by then, if everything works out. I’m super excited to share this story with you – there’ll be a “Subscribe” function below, if you’d like to stay informed. I really hope you will.
Happy Writing,
Adam Brink
