It is serindipitous that both author copies of my new novels arrived on my front porch in time for my birthday. These are the product of a long year — much back and forth with my delightful but very busy illustrator, working closely with my new editor Emily (as well as my delightful spouse, who insists on reading each paragraph many, many times, and is in no small way responsible for the quality of novel available at the end of the line) and my own wrestling with what I want to write and coming to an agreement with myself on how to write it.
The first book essentially boils down to, “What if James Bond had difficulties with keeping to task” which the astute readers among you might rightly interpret as, “What if James Bond was James Bond”. Our protagonist, Vann, really wants things to work out with his family, growing older, his boyfriend Harrington, and especially with his own hero and sometimes-mentor, London. There are also gnomes, if that’s your thing, and a lovely baker named Tavora, who has misconstrued a work ethic with a healthy, happy life. Secret Agent Vann isn’t quite as silly as the others, but it’s bound to make you laugh in many places, I suspect, and if you liked London’s Calling I think you’ll like the sequel even more. You don’t have to have read London’s Calling (or, fortunately, the Sex Bunker Apocalypse trilogy) to really appreciate this new novel, but you might enjoy it EVEN MORE IF YOU DO.
The second book is called The Stumplet, and it’s a book about death, facing a world you don’t understand and coming to terms with problems for which there might not be an answer. Fortunately our protagonists are quite capable and, in Stumplet’s case, pretty gosh-darn adorable. Also, if you like superpowered chickens, then this is (astonishingly) the book for you.
Both books are currently available on Amazon (links to be provided below) and I hope to have print copies with me at Arisia this year. Amazon says they’ll be here in time, anyway.
Neither book contains any smut, I’m afraid, but I will have more of that available for the readership that desires it this summer, or possibly sooner.
Lastly, we hope to have both the second and third audio book versions of the Sex Bunker trilogy done in time for Arisia as well – more as that develops. Our reader had outdone herself and really made those stories come to life.
Thank you all for the love and support you’ve sent my way this year. I quite literally could not have done all this without you.
Happy reading, and writing! —
Adam
